First Bimester Hours: 12

Volleyball (Jaamsa Team)

2016

 Hours:12

Aswell as taking part of the school volleyball activity I also belong to the JAAMSA volleyball team. This team belongs to the Peruvian league and the training is extremely intensive and time-consuming but throughout the first Bimester it has been completely worth it as I have shown an improvement, especially in the techniques of serving. I am more consistent while serving and scoring points. JAAMSA team pressures each of the members to perform the best they can even if they think that they can’t do it.

In my case when I first joined the team I was scared and nervous, as I was one of the youngest members next to a girl called Vanessa that was 18, most of the girls were around the ages of 22-33. I thought while they were attacking I would never be nearly as good as them, however with each day of training my overall attacking and serving have improved massively and I haven't been afraid anymore of actually throwing myself onto the floor to catch the ball during the matches.

I demonstrated the following Learning Outcomes:

LO 1 - Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth--> Our team worked to improve its communication skills

LO 4 - Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences-->We had 5 matches where we won 4 of them, thus during class we focused on improving our techniques.

LO 5 - Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively --> During training the team worked together and improved its communication during matches
