European Film Festival
2016
Hours: 2
Being part of IB Film subject got me the opportunity to present a film at the European Film Festival that was held in the district of San Isidro by the Universidad Católica during from the 22 of October to the 8th of November.
During a film class, the organizers of this event came to talk to us and present us the opportunity to go and speak about a movie that would be shown by the embassy of one of the European countries which was going to be shown to the public in lima. The task was to make a reflection about the film and also to conduct a small research then present it, for example mentioning its aims, director’s interior meaning, etc.
Discussing the idea in lesson my friend Paula Mesia and I decided to sign up for it and make the presentation on the 12th of November at 6pm presenting the film “Alabama Monroe” by the recognized Dutch director Felix Van Groeningen. We prepared our speech and practiced several times before the presenting date.
On the 12th of November the theatre was full of people and Paula and I presented the film; by the critique of the audience we knew that our presentation had been extraordinary.
I demonstrated the following CAS Learning Outcomes:
LO1. Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth --> We imporved in the analysis of the film we needed to present.
LO2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process ---> The analysis needed to be clear in order for the audience who did not know the cinematic terms to be able to understand.
LO3. Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience --> Paula and I volunteered to present Alabama Monroe film
LO5. Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively --> We agreed on how to divide the information and present it.
